Our Story
The story of Prakul & Kunwarpreet stemmed during their academic venture into the foundation batch of Graduate Insolvency Programme of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs under the aegis of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India. During their stint of two years at GIP, they identified each other’s core competencies and the synergic effect they can produce if they work together. On August 5, 2022, they incorporated Prakul & Kunwarpreet LLP (“P&K”) with a common objective to provide top notch professional advisory services to their clientele using their multi-disciplinary skills.
Prakul is an insolvency professional, practicing company secretary, lawyer & a cost accountant with prior experience of over 3 years in Natco Pharma Limited in its litigation and secretarial team during which time he also assisted the promoters in their private equity investments. At Natco, Prakul was part of the core team working on the Qualified Institutional Placement of ~ INR 1000 Cr. Thereafter, Prakul pursued Graduate Insolvency Programme and as part of the programme, he has undergone a 9-month practical training with Ernst & Young assisting successful implementation of resolution plan of a Large Steel Manufacturer based in Maharashtra and played critical role in compliance management, litigation, plant visits and operations oversight of a Bhuj based Auto Component Manufacturer undergoing CIRP. Post that he was trained under the guidance of the Judicial and Technical Members at NCLT, Chennai for 3-months. After an extensive training for 2 years, Prakul enrolled as an Insolvency Professional with the IBBI.
Kunwarpreet is an insolvency professional, practicing company secretary and holds masters in commerce with a major in business policy and corporate governance with prior experience of working with an insolvency professional entity and a law firm engaged in corporate litigation, corporate restructuring and insolvency matters including drafting of resolution plans. Thereafter, Kunwarpreet pursued Graduate Insolvency Programme and as part of the programme, he has undergone a 9-month practical training with Deloitte where he was part of the team handling CIRP of the largest group insolvency matter in Indian Real Estate. Post his tenure at Deloitte, he joined the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (“IBBI”) as research associate where he was part of CIRP team engaged in inspection and investigation, research work, prosecution matters and was also involved in the key team drafting the regulations for prepacks. He appears regularly before NCLT and NCLAT. After an extensive training for 2 years, Kunwarpreet enrolled as an Insolvency Professional with the IBBI. He is one of the two Indians being featured in the Young Practitioner Spotlight of INSOL International.
